UIBC CHARITY DAY, MAY 2014

UI Buddy Club (UIBC)'s Charity Day was done. Finally. I and Soulaya was assigned by Kak Putri, the president of UIBC to handle a project called "Charity and Cultural Day". The basic concept is cultural exchange and charity in the same time. So, we have to find an orphanage or "learning house" for  kids around campus. The exchange students (Buddies) will perform their cultural arts such as dancing, singing in front of the kids, and explain about their culture. After that, the Buddies will give some donations to support the foundation. But, after some considerations, we deleted the cultural part and gonna initiate "only" charity project. Thus, we'll only focus on how the Buddies can donate and contribute for the content of this activity.

Think it won't be difficult, since I have some friends who are also the board of some "learning house"around my school. But, the reality is not that easy. I've contact some learning houses, but in the end of the day we can't cooperate because of timing issue. The day of execution also delayed several times since we haven't had a partner to do this activity. I was a bit (only a bit) stressful, afraid that this activity will be canceled because the Buddies study term will end soon. And in the same time, i have to handle my major's event that need my special attenttion.

Fortunately, I have a super team. I remember one said that the key of success is being surrounded by people who want things with you. I remember Wiwid, a good friend of mine, an internal staff of UIBC who was agreed to help me to make this project happen. She was the one who contacts some learning houses, and finally we can cooperate with "Rumah Belajar Matahari PPSDMS", a learning house that the location is very close to our school. And the headmaster of this learning house was my classmate in a subject on the second term, Erin. What a small world! Thanks Erin and team who allowed us to do this project in Rumbel Matahari :).

I remember Arum, as Buddy relation. She contact all Buddies via emails, asked them to join this activity. She always remind the team about what to say to the Buddies, the deadlines, etc. She also tell UIBC's members to join this event Finally, there were 5 Buddies from Brunei Darussalam and some UIBC's members were willing to join. Arum was done a great job.

Ninda, who handled the logistic stuffs. In the Day-1, she was the person in charge to accompany the Buddies bought things for the D day. Although she was sick at that time, but Ninda were still do her task. From purchased goods until wrap it up. I could say nothing but thank you :)

For Kak Putri,  for your guidance and compassion. For your support and encouragement. Especially for the funding matters :p. Gotta do the financial report soon. And also International Office UI who want to sponsor this activity

For Ipul, Ola, Kak Biben, Alam, and Dyna who were coming on the D day and helped us A LOT. Thank you for being very nice to the kids :). Also for Wulan who joined us for logistic preparation on the D-1 :D

For Kak Erin, The head of external team and all UIBC members, for your moral supports :*

And last but not least, thank you for 5 Buddies from Brunei Darussalam: Bazilah, Sukainah, Nadia, Wadaah, and Nadzirah who were very cooperative. You guys were very well prepared and I learned so many things from you all. And the idea of face-painting was very superb. I saw the happy faces from the kids after they got their first face-paintings. And all the gifts that you prepare, and also your willingness to help UIBC team to do the preparation. It was very nice to work with you guys. Thank you!

Honestly, I never expect that the execution could be done very well. I thank all of you who were more than willing to make this project happen. Thank you veeeerrryyy much! :)
